Hi! I'm Em (she/her)
I value... compassion, integrity, courage, delicious coffee & food, paintings & poetry, laughter, challenging the status quo, repurposing used objects, caring for our earth and each other, and of course wonderful people and animals to experience life with (+bonus: mildly imperfect grammar & typos.)
I make... art, poetry, refurbished/decorative furniture, handmade paper, jewellery, collages, zines, prints, notecards, digital art, etc+infinity.
I offer... reflective astrology journalling workshops, commissioned secondhand furniture/street library builds & refreshes, graphic design work, public health research assistance, as well as stickers, postcards, and prints featuring my artwork.
I'm available for street library builds, murals, branding, custom fonts, stationery and more!
Before the world got its hands on me, I was a maker. On any given day, you could have found Little Em in her bedroom in New York (Lenape land) crafting her heart out, coming up with ideas for repurposing old or broken things in new ways, and revelling in the wonder of transforming materials with her bare hands.
As an adult, I continued creating alongside social-justice-focused NGO and public health research & teaching careers, but found myself craving more and more time for making.
Today, I am living in Magandjin (Brisbane) with my partner, Skrumf. He and I have been dreaming up creative projects and navigating life together since 2015. We hope to one day build a tiny house from reclaimed materials.
In 2024, I completed my Diploma of Graphic Design, which equipped me with skills to explore the intersections of digital & analogue art. As an artist & designer, I aim to develop slow, meaningful, reflective imagery & messaging that brings depth & longevity to brands, products, community projects and creative endeavours.
